Eglise Saint-Clément

The Saint-Clément - Jardin des Plantes( Garden of Plants ) district is a district of Rouen on the left bank. It is organized in particular around the Saint-Clémen church and the Jardin des Plantes.

The increase in the population of the Saint-Clément district in the second half of the 19th century necessitated the creation of a new parish. It was on the site of the old Saint-Sever cemetery that it was built.
It is a neo-Romanesque church built in the 19th century. Cardinal Bonnechose was titular of the Saint-Clément church in Rome.
The first stone was laid on November 21, 1870 and blessed on August 13, 1872.

The Saint-Clément church is the work of the architect Barthélemy.

In the aftermath of the Second World War , the district on the banks of the Seine, the "Left Bank" was rebuilt according to an urban plan adopted in 1946, which planned to bring together all the major administrations.

Shore little frequented by tourists, certain districts are not lacking in charm & have kept a "soul" of a city on a human scale where it is very pleasant to walk.
