Street art is a strictly visual art developed in public spaces (or in other words, “in the streets”). The term usually refers to unauthorized art, non-compliant with government sponsored initiatives. (General definition of Street Art)
Graffiti
Inscription or drawing, often satirical or caricatural in character, drawn in Antiquity on objects or monuments. (Among the most revealing are the political inscriptions from Pompeii, the accounts on the shards of the Graufesenque, etc.) (Dictionary definition)

I love "Street Art", "Graffiti", their ephemeral side. Some of the "paintings" that I had the chance to photograph no longer exist, replaced by others or erased by the town hall. Too bad, because it is a real art of which I like certain styles more or less.
On the other hand, hats off to these artists who know how to give life to their works with this apparent ease, to accept that their work disappears in favor of other artists.
I find it great that Rouen puts forward this noble Art with Rouen Impressionned and other manifestations that allow Rouen Street Art to live ... and perhaps live from it ...

Freedom for the artists, I admire their audacity and ease in front of the spectators.
Whether we like it or not, we can only admire!
I adore.
Yesterday a sad gray building, today a flamboyant work of art. Very successful.

"Street Art" in the heart of Lacroix Island.
What a pity that some come and spoil the work by tagging anything on it but hey, it's an ephemeral art, I have no doubt that a new work of art will soon take place.

Universal and unique. The artist is truly gifted.

Richard Lallemant street
Richard-Gontran Conteray called Lallemant, born December 18, 1725 in Rouen where he died April 3, 1807, is a French printer-bookseller based in Rouen. Considering his job, I have no doubt that he would have appreciated this way of expression which adorns the walls of the city and particularly its street.

He took the name "Lallemant" because his family was of German origin. Creator in his time, I have no doubt that he would have liked to lay out certain urban works which litter the walls of Rouen to make them known to the people .

Proof that sometimes you have to have your head in the sky ... I see that street artists are also stuntmen when they manage to draw in such improbable places. Spots that I imagine also prohibited but that is surely not what stops them ... they have the taste of the risk for their work.

"On the sheds"
From Lacroix island, I see on the sheds of the low Jacques Anquetil quays, tags, graffiti of people who dare, some gifted, inspired, others less. I would be quite incapable of realizing a quarter of the less inspired works. so I shut up, watch and admire in some cases. I am always impressed to see the inaccessible places on which they exercise their talent. It often makes me dizzy.

"Mimic me !"

The tunnel takes on water ...

Passing through this tunnel which goes from the Corneille bridge to the République street was practical but still sad, between these pale walls and unfortunate graffiti . Young artists have created a maritime fresco that has made the passage pleasant to cross. I took the opportunity to take pictures of it before it is degraded .... because one shouldn't dream ... there will always be "smart kids" to damage the work of others ... .

I am dumbfounded!
